For Sri Lankan Citizens National Identity card/ Passport and a valid Sri Lankan Driving License, For Foreign Citizens Passport and International Driving License or the Driving License issued by their own country subject to endorsement by Automobile Association of Ceylon or Sri Lanka Motor Department.

Shineway-Rent-a-car permits 100 Kms per day, free of charge. Please see our vehicle listings for excess mileage charges.

You could pick up the vehicle at our office during office hours between 7.30 am and 5.00 pm. As an additional service, we provide airport (CMB) pick up for an extra charge of USD 45.00. If you want to drop off the vehicle at the CMB airport a further charge of USD. 45.00 will be levied. (both ways USD 90.00) If you want us to deliver the vehicle to you within Colombo city limits, an additional charge of USD 15.00 will be levied and for delivery and drop of out side Colombo, the additional charge will depend on the distance to the delivery point.

This is possible, depending upon the availability of the requested vehicle.

The total rental fee must be paid at the time of collecting your vehicle. A refundable deposit of USD 250.00 for cars, USD 300.00 for vans and USD 500.00/USD 400.00 for Jeeps are required.

All major credit cards will be accepted and this facility is available only in our office in Colombo between 7.30 am and 5.00 pm. A surcharge of 4.5% will be levied for payment by credit card. All payments outside our office (including Colombo Airport) should be made by cash in whatever currency you prefer.

When you hire a vehicle from Shineway with or without driver, please note our office hours are between 7.30 am to 5.00 pm. Prior arrangements may be made for returning or collecting a vehicle beyond these hours, and in such case an additional charge of USD 20.00 will be levied for pick up or collection within Colombo city limits and if it is outside city limits the charge will depend on the distance to the point of collection.

All our vehicles are comprehensively (Properly) insured to cover the Driver, Passengers, the Vehicle and third party damage with ‘Car Rental Fleet’ cover. The client liability is limited to USD 200 in case of an accident.

We can get you the vehicle permit from Automobile association of Sri Lanka if you could send us two photographs of yourself and scanned copies of your Passport and international driving license, and driving license from your own country. USD 35 will be charged for this procedure, being the taxes payable to the government authorities.
